Yesterday we went to visit my parents for post-Christmas Christmas, and my grandma got us a Crock-Pot. I was very happy.
Of course I’m going to use it today! Ranch chicken and veggies, in the pot! :-D
What is up with my phone camera? Sometimes it takes great pictures, and other times…
Didn’t Miss Tumblr Today…
…because I wasn’t around for a good reason! My husband, kids, and I went to go visit my mom, dad, and brother and exchange Christmas presents since we didn’t get to see them last month.
I don’t get to see them but once every couple of months, so it was very nice. :-D
And the angel said to them, “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” —Luke 2:10-11
Merry Christmas to you all! <3
Bluuurp. Beep. Tzzzzz.
If you are receiving this message, then I am lost.
I am lost to space, lost to the whirr of a ship’s engine, lost to the stars.
I am lost to distant planets and galaxies far, far away.
Time is running short, there are Talon Fighters on my tail.
Kaliyo, get those shields up!
When and if I return, I will catch up with you. I will be a champion, a victor, a loyal agent of the Imperials, and we will revel in the galaxy I helped unify. Until then, take care of yourselves. It’s about Christmastime now, isn’t it? Happy Christmas to you all.
Cipher Nine, out.
Kids, Christmas, and Space Combat
Where have I been the past few days? Mostly one of these places:
- Playing with my kids
- Cleaning and/or cooking
- Doing various Christmas-assorted tasks (and I’m still not done shopping…)
- Playing SWTOR
That’s it. That’s what I’m doing. I’ve run two 3-milers this week, which is a lot for me. My first official 5k is in 2 weeks (ACK!). I also hit 70 pounds lost and am slowly creeping up on the lowest weight I’ve been my entire adult life (and I’m counting high school in that).
SWTOR is awesome and fun and awesomely fun. I’ve got a level 18 Sniper. and so far I love her. The storylines are great, the quests are interesting, and the PvP is fun. Oh, how I love the sound of blaster fire at 12 o’clock in the morning.
Calories & Christmas Trees
Man, I had a nonstop day today. Church in the morning, lunch with the kidlings at home while my hubby ran out to a gun show, a 3.1 mile run (which is still a long run for me), a trip to the store, then went and cooked dinner at my mother-in-law’s and put up her Christmas tree.
It was a great day, it really was! Bonus: I plugged in my Bodybugg, and it says I’ll have burned over 3600 calories by 12:30 a.m. if I don’t do anything at all for the rest of the night. That’ll be a 2000 calorie deficit if I don’t eat anything else, and considering how full I feel right now, that’s HIGHLY unlikely.
It was nice helping my mom-in-law. She’s been struggling with some severe nerve pain and arthritis lately, and it’s nice to go over there and let her have some time with the kids and fix dinner for everyone. :-)
We don’t have cable, and Netflix has been kinda lackluster in the Christmas-movies-for-kids department. I checked local schedules, and Rudolph is coming on CBS at 8! Both of the kids took naps and one is even already bathed, so they can stay up to watch it!
Christmas is my favorite holiday. I can’t help it. :-D
(I will not be indulging in my former Christmas movie snacks, which generally include a couple of cups of hot chocolate with whipped cream and some kind of ridiculously unnecessary dessert item…I will be having peppermint tea!)
Love to Read!
Yesterday I volunteered to read to my daughter’s first grade class, and I had a lot of fun! I read this book:
which I love, because it’s a poetic book, and I don’t mean that cheap, forced rhyme you see in the Dollar Store. It’s a lot of fun to read, and the kids were great listeners!
I love to read, and I especially love to read out loud. I like the way the words feel and sound. It’s goofy, but it’s not that unexpected from me, as most of my family can tell you…
Anyway, besides all of that, how could I not love putting a smile on this face? <3
Speaks for itself, doesn’t it?
Edit to add: We started off slow in February of this year, but since then, we’ve lost a combined 130 pounds!
What Kind of Christmas List is This?
I never thought I’d add fitness things to my Christmas list. New computer headset for raiding? Absolutely. My own copy of Portal 2 and maybe a second 360 controller for co-op play? Heck yeah! A food processor since mine broke? Yes, please.
But I’ve added a couple of things to my list that honestly surprise me:
Some of these…
And some of these:
Old Christy would be boggled by these items being on the list, but I’m not.
